AS91027 Apply Algebraic Procedures In Solving Problems

This booklet is designed for the MCAT (Mathematics Common Assessment Task). It is the NCEA Level 1 Achievement Standard for algebra and covers expanding and factorising, exponents, substituting values, linear patterns, solving equations, quadratics, rearranging formulae and simultaneous equations. There are specific achievement, merit and excellence examples and exercises to cater for all student levels. The booklet contains both write-on sheets and worksheets that could be used as homework or classwork sheets. At the back we have put actual exam papers (along with the answers). Each year, during September, over 40,000 New Zealand students will sit the MCAT exam. By using this booklet they will have the best chance at passing this standard.

AS91269 Apply Systems of Equations in Solving Problems

AS91269 is a Year 12, Level 2 Achievement Standard worth 2 credits towards NCEA. This booklet provides a number of situations and problems that require you to form and use pairs of simultaneous equations and inequations. Both linear and non linear equations are used. There are 40 pages in this booklet and the exercises require you to devise strategies to enable you to solve the problems. There are many worked examples and lots of hints, tips and full answers are supplied. The booklet will help you approach this achievement standard with confidence.

NCEA Level 2 Mathematics

This booklet contains over 170 pages of work for the main Level 2 Achievement Standards. Each chapter starts off with a revision summary of all the main points in the standard. There are then 2 practise assessments that can test whether you are ready for the exernal examinations. Fully worked answers are included in the back section. Note that this book was written for the Achievement Standards that were replaced in 2012. However the general content is unchanged for most of the new standards therefore this book is a valuable resource for ALL Year 12 students.

AS91028 Investigate relationships between tables, equations and graphs

This booklet is designed for the NCEA Level 1 Achievement Standard for graphs and covers both straight line graphs and quadratic graphs. It shows how to find the equation of a linear graph and a parabola. There are specific achievement, merit and excellence examples and exercises along with practice examinations. 

AS91031 Geometric Reasoning

This booklet is designed for the NCEA Level 1 Achievement Standard for geometry and covers all the geometric facts and figures such as angles on a straight line, within a triangle, angles within a polygon and within a circle. There are specific achievement, merit and excellence examples and exercises along with a practice examination based on a previous external paper.

AS90151 Number Problems

This booklet is designed for the NCEA Level 1 Achievement Standard for number problems and covers covers percentages, GST, standard form, ratios and accuracy. There are specific achievement, merit and excellence examples and exercises along with a practice examination based on a previous external paper.

Solve Right Angled Triangles

This booklet can be used for Year 10 trigonometry or for NCEA Level 1. It teaches how to find unknown side lengths and angles of right angled triangles. There are specific achievement, merit and excellence examples and exercises along with a practice examination based on a previous external paper.
