Graphs, Grids and Other Useful Templates
Ever needed some graph or log paper with different sized grids, a ready made set of axes for drawing lines, parabolas, hyperbolas or trigonometry graphs or some isometric lines or grids for drawing shapes? This 56 page booklet is the one for you. It contains all the essential maths graph axes and grids in one handy file. Thanks to Peter Sumpter of Villa Maria College and James Hurring of Hutt Valley High School for their suggestions and contributions to this booklet. After many requests and suggestions from teachers this resource was updated in April and then again in July 2012 to include many more different sized isometric lines and even has a page of 10 mm lines that can be used for exam answer booklets. You will also find expanding circle templates, hexagonal and octagonal grids and a set of nine 3 x 3 boxes for magic squares. The most recent additions include fraction strips, fraction circles and squares, thermometers, protractors that can be printed onto clear plastic, number lines for help with integer arithmetic and 15 cm rulers that can be printed onto card. -
Family Maths
Every family should have a "Mathematics Night". We know that there are many home schoolers and parents who receive our newsletter. Mathematics does not have to be that dreaded subject that we want to forget from our school days. Family maths can help to promote a love of maths and will help make maths fun through positive attitudes, games and activities that use key mathematical concepts. Attitude is everything and a parent can help with positive attitudes by being interested and helping gain mathematical success in math. This booklet is full of strategies, ideas, games and suggestions for you to help make mathematics more meaningful and most of all fun! It is ideal for ages 3 - 8.

Maths Survival Guide
This friendly self-help workbook covers mathematics essential to first-year university scientists and engineers. In this second edition the author has completely revised the text and added a totally new chapter on vectors.
Mathematics underpins all science and engineering degrees, and this may cause problems for students whose understanding of the subject is weak. In this book Jenny Olive uses her extensive experience of teaching and helping students by giving a clear and confident presentation of the core mathematics needed by students starting science or engineering courses. Each topic is introduced very gently, beginning with simple examples that bring out the basics, and then moving on to tackle more challenging problems. The author takes the time to explain the tricks of the trade and also shortcuts, but is careful to explain common errors allowing students to anticipate and avoid them.
The book contains more than 820 exercises, with detailed solutions given in the back to allow students who get stuck to see exactly where they have gone wrong. Topics covered include trigonometry and hyperbolic functions, sequences and series (with detailed coverage of binomial series), differentiation and integration, complex numbers, and vectors.
This self-study guide to introductory mathematics will be invaluable to students who want to brush up on the subject before starting their course, or to help them develop their skills and understanding while at technical institute or university.
